Albert Jagger manufactures and distributes industrial hardware nationwide to engineers, bodybuilders and associated industries. Walsall is not only home to their newly built distribution centre and head office but also the company’s own manufacturing site, Burrafirm. With over 4,000 customers Albert Jagger has built its’ reputation selling products for use in commercial vehicles whilst more recently they have begun selling products to general industry as well.

Back in December 2003 Albert Jagger found themselves in need of an office junior. Recommended to Starting Point by their sister company AJ Plastics, Tony Cotton, the company’s finance director contacted us for help. Working to Albert Jagger’s specifications we were able to supply them with Jodie.

Jodie had been recommended to Starting Point by the mobile office of our sister company Steps to Work. Undertaking a training scheme at the time of registering with us Jodie was the ideal candidate for an office junior position. June 2004 Albert Jagger found themselves in need of a credit controller initially to cover sickness, with a view to work alongside their existing controller upon her return. Based on their previous dealing Albert Jagger approached us again and in this instance we were able to supply them with Susan.

Susan was recommended to us whilst undertaking computer training via our sister company Steps to Work. With previous credit control experience within the automotive industry there could not have been a more ideal position for Susan than the one at Albert Jagger. Within a week of registering with Starting Point Susan had been to see Tony at Albert Jagger and a start date had been arranged. ‘It was really worth going, Steps to Work gave me a lot of one-to-one training and Liza at Starting Point found out what I had done before and what I wanted to do and found me a job here at Albert Jagger’. Tony chose our 6 week temp to perm option to employ Jodie and Sue whereby having completed six weeks work via Starting Point Albert Jagger would be in a position to offer our workers permanent contracts, end the arrangements or continue with our workers but on a temporary basis. In both instances Jodie and Sue were offered permanent worker direct with Albert Jagger at week 6.
