Matt’s hard work and determination has not only seen him secure paid employment but a Lifelong Learning Award. Wednesday, March 18th 2009, Matt was presented with the Black Country Training Group Learning Towards Employment Award by the legendary comedienne Ruby Wax.

Out & About  

Jointly organised by Walsall Council’s Economic Well Being and Strategic Recruitment teams, Support Into Jobs includes a number of open days designed to promote job opportunities in the public, private and voluntary sector. Held at various locations throughout the Walsall Borough the aim of these days is to promote employment opportunities, the skills and personal qualities required for these jobs and the range of support available locally to assist people into work. Attendees can also access help and guidance on how to complete successful application forms/CV’s, interview techniques, motivation and confidence.

Walsall Council has engaged with a number of partners to make these open
days such a success including West Midlands Fire Service, Walsall Housing Group, Asda and us, to name but a few.

Further to the open day held at Palfrey Sure Start Children’s Centre, January 21st 2009, Cllr Adrian Andrew, Walsall Council cabinet member for Regeneration, said,

“The present economic downturn makes events such as this particularly useful for borough residents. Those who attended were offered support and advice tailored to their particular circumstances through a host of organisations working in partnership to address people’s concerns.”
