Senior Practitioner - Initial Response Service (Ref: 200718) - Social Care

Pay: £21.53 - 32.34

Location: Walsall

Hours of Work: 37

Days of Work: Mon - Fri

Duties: This role will include working in a quick paced Initial Response environment and a duty rota of three weeks off and one week on at present. Work will include both s47 and s17 assessments as well as CSE, Missing, UASC and any other required assessment subject to individual case circumstances. Usual HCPC registration and code of practice will apply.

Qualifications: Social work qualification, BA, MA, CQSW, CSS, DipSW. Registration with HCPC. Evidence of CPD, i.e. Log of CPD as required for HCPC re-registration. Practice Educator award at Level 2 (or equivalent)

Experience: The senior practitioner would be expected to have substantial experience within a duty and assessment team, will be responsible for holding more complex case work and supporting the assistant team manager with continuous professional development of AYSE’s and social workers within the team.

Additional Information: Previous experience in a IRS/MASH desirable. Preferred if West Midlands Police vetted but not essential.

Duties: To work as part of a multi disciplinary team to provide an integrated whole family approach to families with children/young people aged 0 – 19 who present multiple, complex needs which cannot be met by a single agency in a universal setting. To undertake holistic, good quality, assessments, to include levels of risk and vulnerability. To devise, implement, deliver, monitor, and review, outcome based intervention plans to manage the identified risks, vulnerabilities and needs of young people.

Qualifications: A Level 4 or equivalent and / or vocational qualifications (e.g children and young people or community justice studies) is essential. Training in evidence based programmes including Parenting, mediation, Family Group Conferencing, Restorative Justice, etc...

Experience: Experience of working with young people 8-19 is essential OR experience of working with Children 0-8 OR experience of working with children, young people with SEN. Experience of working effectively with family who have complex needs, or at risk of LAC, is essential.
